About Me:

Hello! I’m Emma Garcia, an aspiring instructional designer with a background in educational studies and a lifelong love of learning. I’ve always been curious, I loved going to school, trying new sports, learning instruments, and asking questions. I realized I had a passion for teaching when I started teaching swim lessons for adults and children as a teenager. Helping swimmers reach their goals was so rewarding, and it taught me that learning isn’t always quick, most of the time, it’s about steady progress that builds on what you already know. Studying instructional design and adult learning theories has only increased my admiration for the process of learning.

That mindset carries over into my personal life too. I love learning through my hobbies. I have been working on my yoga practice for about a year now, and I’m all about embracing the process, even when it’s challenging. I love making art, whether it’s collages, drawings, jewelry, or paintings. I also play the piano, make music, and spend time playing volleyball. All of these things have taken trial and error (and plenty of moments of frustration), but they’ve shown me how valuable the learning journey really is.

I would make an excellent addition to any team because of my efficiency, unique perspective, and positive attitude. Let’s work together!
